Sycamore BowlOver 15 years ago this 40 year old tree was cut and the entire trunk was allowed to dry as one piece. Fast forward to 2011 and the new owner of the house wanted this tree trunk gone. "Pick it up today or it goes to the dump." Somehow we lifted it into the back of an SUV and brought it home to work into a variety of bowls and vessels. The wood has beautiful spalting enhancing the grain as well as a center crack (which has been filled) that occurred during the drying process.
